Role Description

Rapid Recovery Center is built around effective care with a personal touch in the ideal healing environment. As the admission nurse, you’ll be instrumental to making this care happen from the moment patients arrive all the way through discharge.

You’ll work directly with patients, their families, physicians, and the care team to ensure the highest standard of care. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that care meets the standards of Rapid Recovery Center as well as the standards of the state’s Nurse Practice Act. This includes assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, resource utilization, and care intervention.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for care interventions and interdisciplinary communication to enhance patient and family satisfaction, adherence to center's clinical systems and regulatory compliance for the center
  • Performs new admission assessments, receives and verifies new orders and treatments, and enters the data into the electronic medical record
  • Completes required documentation in the electronic medical record in compliance with RRC policy and state and/or federal regulations
  • Communicates with physicians, patients, and/or responsible parties regarding changes in patient’s conditions, diagnostic test results, etc.
  • Collects, reviews trending and analyzes patient data
  • Assists with admissions and discharges of patients to ensure a smooth transition
  • Maintains regular and ongoing communication with center’s medical director and other medical staff to ensure each patient receives appropriate care and services
  • Serves as an educational resource for patients and their families on health-related issues
  • Creates and maintains a positive work environment as reflected in staff satisfaction
  • Responsible for quality assurance and assessment, infection control and staff development as determined by the Chief Nursing Officer
  • Complete the Daily List on a daily basis
  • Make rounds on the patients for which you are responsible daily
  • Coach/mentor the licensed nurses under your charge.
  • Answer call lights in a timely manner, be alert to patient’s comforts and needs, and answer their requests promptly
  • Lift, move, and transfer patients as required. This involves the ability to safely transfer patients who cannot bear their own weight. It also involves the ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching and lifting in excess of 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations. Manual dexterity required performing tasks in assisting patients with their personal needs
  • Safely utilize equipment. Report any equipment needing service or repair immediately
  • Participate in emergency fire or disaster drills and other in-service training as scheduled. Must be able to safely ascend and descend stairwells and assist in an evacuation
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance in accordance with property absence policies
  • Use appropriate work place behavior and adhere to dress code at all times
  • Complete assigned training on time and/or attend training classes when schedule
  • Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations
  • Promotes positive public relations with Patients, family members and guests

What we’re looking for

  • Nursing degree with current state licensure
  • Three year's successful experience as a nurse in an acute care setting is preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
