Role Description

The Controller for MSH Texas is responsible monitoring and managing the accounting function, providing strategic financial solutions, outcomes and reporting as they relate to budget management, internal accounting controls, cost benefit analysis and forecasting needs.  This position is also responsible for building out the regional finance and accounting function as well as streamlining processes to operate at maximum efficiency. 


Additional Responsibilites:

  • Monitor/supervise accounting function for Texas region.
  • Manage monthly/year-end close process.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Provide monthly/quarterly financial statements and budget variances to management.
  • Manage revenue cycle and accounts receivable functions to include the implementation and oversight at the regional and RRC level.
  • Responsible for leading a team to administer the general accounting, patient business services, including third party reimbursement, financial and statistical reporting functions of the hospital in accordance with established policies and accounting procedures. 
  • Maintain/setup accounting system and financial statements.
  • Streamline monthly closing process.
  • Ensure accounting policy and procedures compliance.
  • Manage various external reviews/audits.
  • Prepare annual tax returns for various entities.
  • Provide management with a greater knowledge and better visibility of cash positions.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA is preferred
  • Five to seven years of progressive financial leadership experience in a post- acute or acute care healthcare setting is required
  • Sage accounting software is helpful
  • Experience working in a fast growing start up organization is highly desired
